David P. Rouben, M.D.
Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon
Dr. Rouben is a Louisville native who received his Doctorate of Medicine Degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1977. After completing a general surgical internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, he continued his specialty training at the Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia, an affiliate of the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Rouben then traveled to both Boston and Toronto to complete fellowships in joint reconstruction and spinal reconstruction respectively. Dr. Rouben spent an additional nine years teaching at the Georgia Baptist Medical Center before returning home to Louisville in 1992, where he has continued to practice orthopaedic and adult spinal surgery. Dr. Rouben has been innovative in the development of minimally invasive spine surgery.

Michael T. Casnellie, M.D.
Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon
Dr. Michael Casnellie joined our practice September 1, 2005. He is a native of Northern Kentucky. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Purdue University and received his Doctorate of Medicine degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic residency at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center,which is associated with Texas Tech, in El Paso, TX. He has completed a fellowship in spine surgery at Twin Cities Spine Center in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Casnellie has had training in minimally invasive spine surgery and specializes in adult spinal surgery.

Michael E. Gilbert, PA-C
Physician Assistant-Certified
Michael Gilbert, PA-C brings years of clinical and surgical orthopedic experience to River City Orthopaedic Surgeons, PSC. This past experience provides each patient he examines, access to his expert insight and management of a variety of musculoskeletal conditions with special interest in traumatic injuries, occupational job related injuries, and sports medicine. Mike has also been certified for Orthotic evaluation and molding. Additional interests include preventive medical patient education and the management of osteoporosis and degenerative arthritic disorders. Mike graduated in 1991 with honors from Kettering College of Medical Arts. In addition to his commitment to orthopaedic medicine; Michael also earned a degree from The Culinary Institute of America, the most respected school of food preparatory arts in America. Mike is an active member of both the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery.

Timothy J. Fitch, PA-C
Physician Assistant-Certified
Timothy Fitch P.A.-C. has several years of experience specializing in Orthopedic surgery and clinical medicine, with a particular enthusiasm for spinal conditions. Tims' surgical experience provides exacting insights pertinent to clinical anatomy and musculo-skeletal medicine. As a result, patients benefit from his expert clinical evaluations coupled with the most appropriate and expedient treatments available to them through both surgical and conservative means. Additional areas of experience include chronic pain, occupational medicine, sports medicine, as well as alternative therapies. Tim has a wide range of skills gathered from an eclectic background such as various types of movement & strength systems, Shiatsu and acupressure, Reiki, and Cranio-Sacral therapies. As a result, each patient receives consideration for modalities that can be practically appropriate for each individual. Tim graduated from Touro College in 1994. Tim is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
